“For I am ready to set things right, not in the distant future, but right now! I am ready to save Jerusalem and show my glory to Israel.”
Isaiah 46:13 (NLT)
“The future glory of this Temple will be greater than its past glory, says the Lord of Heavenʼs Armies. And in this place I will bring peace. I, the Lord of Heavenʼs Armies, have spoken!”
Haggai 2:9 (NLT)
When was the last time you realized how incredible God is? Think about this for a second: the Earth we live on somehow manages to be close enough to the sun to sustain life yet far enough to keep us from being toast. It is all under the authority of our God. Never mind the fact that it is floating in space. Honestly, when was the last time you woke up in the middle of the night terrified that the Earth was going to suddenly stop spinning? The truth is we donʼt worry about that. We trust God to handle it. If we trust God to keep this Earth in perfect alignment in His solar system, why do we struggle with trusting God with our future?
"If we trust God to keep this Earth in perfect alignment in His solar system, why do we struggle with trusting God with our future?"
I donʼt know where you are as youʼre reading this devotional. Some of you may be sick, in debt, on the verge of divorce, doubting God, harboring secret sin, filled with anxiety, or maybe youʼre just completely numb to it all. But what I do know is that your future in Jesus is secure. Many times we look at our lives and become discouraged as we imagine that we should be further along in our career, in school, with our families, in our finances, and even in our walk with God. Today you can change that. With faith in God, you can purpose to laugh without fear of the future.
"...Your future in Jesus is secure."
Today you can remember and meditate (or think repeatedly) on the truth of the Word of how madly in love with you the Father is and all that He's done for you; all that He's brought you through. Ask yourself what you are holding onto that may be keeping you from trusting God with your future. Is it fear, pain, or lack of understanding?
Once you recognize that area say this out loud:
God, I surrender ________ to you. I donʼt have all the answers but I know that I can rest on the fact that you have never failed me and you wonʼt start now. Help me to walk in alignment with your word. Renew my mind daily God. Remind me of all that youʼve done and give me the courage to proclaim all that you will do according to your amazing Word.
