Day 16: God Still Speaks

Every year as a church, we pray & fast corporately for 21 days to get clear direction from God for our lives and the new year. This year, we will be reading the book of John together (1 chapter a day). Today is Day 16.

Today’s Reading: John, Chapter 16

Author: Linda Wright

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14 (NKJV)

‭‭

Whenever the Holy Spirit speaks to us, He is revealing to us a truth that Jesus would have us know or an instruction to guide us.

When praying, you can ask the Holy Spirit what He desires in a situation or problem.

If you feel that you do not hear from Him, or would like to then get alone in a quiet place, clear your mind, and talk to Him. He will answer. You have to be intentional in giving Him time to speak. He wants to guide you, give you revelation/wisdom, and show you that you are loved by Him. I find that after my daily Bible reading, my mind is quieter, and I can talk to Him. Sometimes, He answers immediately and sometimes it takes a while or a day. But, He will reply.

One morning, I was not hearing anything and had to go to an appointment. After I left the appointment, while in my car, I noticed the clouds had formed a perfect anchor in the sky. It brought tears to my eyes as, even though I thought He did not answer me, the anchor (which no one else I asked saw) symbolized that He is my anchor. He has me. He is there.

You have to see beyond what you might think as to how He will talk to you.

Jesus, I love You and I thank You that You have sent the Holy Spirit, that He is available to us. I seek You in truth. I am waiting on You. I am Yours.
