The leader of a Santa Clarita church recently shared his vision for his church’s culture, which has been cultivated by the congregation since it was first created nine years ago.
“We have many of those in our church that just love God, they love people and they love family, and that’s been our culture since we started Elevate Church nine years ago,” said Mauricio Ruiz, lead pastor of Elevate Church in Newhall. “By God’s grace, we’ve been able to continue that culture throughout the years.”
Ruiz also noted his belief that the “key” to connecting with others is to love them, as well as show them “what honor looks like.”
“That’s a major part of our church, is honor,” he said. “We teach the culture of honor.”
One of the ways Elevate Church strives to reach the community in general is by holding large-scale events and services for major holidays such as Easter or Christmas, which Ruiz said takes many months of thought and preparation.
“We love to see the community connect with us in some way, whether you attend the church or not,” he said. “If there’s something specific that we do for the community that connects people to come and experience something beautiful, especially Christ, what (an) awesome way than to do it with these amazing moments that we have in our beautiful seasons throughout the year.”
The last important component Ruiz shared regarding Elevate Church is their aim to ensure that everyone feels included from the start.
“We’re not an exclusive church, we’re an inclusive church,” he said. “I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to believe to belong at Elevate Church. You belong before you ever believe, because that’s how much God loves you.”
Elevate Church in Santa Clarita is passionate about helping the community connect with God in a real way by having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Santa Clarita church focuses on providing the community with practical principles for daily living based on Bible teachings. Leaders of the family friendly church have a vision of going beyond their own walls to nurture others and remind them of God’s love, as well as encourage the community to do the same for others.
